Historical Game for AC Trampi

AC Trampi vs Pieta Futsal - 25/02/2011 - 4-1

The game against Pieta Futsal was a historical game in AC Trampi’s eight year history as AC Trampi got their first three points on court in Corradino. The other two victories indoor were both walkovers: on 22nd March 2005 (2nd season) against Deportivo Santa Cruz and this season against Luqa St. Andrews.

In the first half AC Trampi once again showed an excellent performance, tactically perfect. This time, however, were capable of finishing their actions with goals. AC Trampi scored four goals in the first 25 minutes. After three minutes Steve Falzon put AC Trampi in advantage. In the 13th minute, Wayne Mizzi scored his first goal of the season by putting into the net a shot by Justin Psaila. Psaila was once again in goal three minutes later by another shoot. The fourth goal was also a first time goal for the season, this time by Clifton Calleja. During the first half, AC Trampi’s defence managed to keep Pieta Futsal away from Steven Xuereb’s net, with Pieta trying their luck only with shots from the half pitch. After the fourth goal, the match had to stop for about three minutes, as Pieta Futsal’s goaler did not want to play any more. The game resumed with one of their players acting as goaler for the rest of the match.

The second half saw Xuereb as the protagonist of the game, surely being the player of the match for AC Trampi. He managed to keep the positive result for AC Trampi with some brilliant saves. It was practically a match between Pieta’s players against Xuereb, with Pieta hitting twice the post. Anxiety of winning starting to grow amongst AC Trampi’s players, resulting in a quite disappointing half for the team. Luckily for the team Xuereb remained calm. Pieta Futsal only managed to get a consolation goal in the 25th minute.

This victory gave a breath of fresh air for AC Trampi, keeping the hopes of playing in the third division next year still alive. The next game against Classics Futsal Club will surely be a crucial one.
